37. The uncompleted story

I walked through the corridor, my footsteps echoing like a silent warning. Students shifted out of my way instantly, their whispers dying down, their eyes filled with unease. Once, I used to smile at them, offer kindness, make conversations to ease their nerves. But that part of me no longer existed for them. They didnโ€™t deserve itโ€”not after the way they had treated my Anvika, out of jealousy at her when all she ever did was shine brighter.
